John was a Christian man born in Brooklyn to Sven Alm & Theresa Blomstedt. He was predeceased by his brothers Richard Alm from Arizona and Donald Alm from New Jersey. John, (aka "Jack" "Jake") was predeceased by both his first wife of 31 years Helen Agnes Wissel and his second wife of 29 years, Frances (aka "Chickie") Cincotta.

John worked in the Insurance business for nearly 50 years mostly as the owner of The Howell Insurance Agency in Glen Head, NY...

John was a Christian man born in Brooklyn to Sven Alm & Theresa Blomstedt. He was predeceased by his brothers Richard Alm from Arizona and Donald Alm from New Jersey. John, (aka "Jack" "Jake") was predeceased by both his first wife of 31 years Helen Agnes Wissel and his second wife of 29 years, Frances (aka "Chickie") Cincotta.

John worked in the Insurance business for nearly 50 years mostly as the owner of The Howell Insurance Agency in Glen Head, NY and worked the later years of his career for The Badge Insurance Agency also of Glen Head. Dad was dedicated to helping others throughout his life. He was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Deer Park since 1965. John was very proud of the brotherhood he shared with his Glen Head Rotary. He was also a lifelong Mason, involved with the Masons in Brooklyn.
John was survived by his five children, all from his first marriage which he lovingly referred to as his Fantastic Five- Carolyn, Cathy, Charlie, Jack and Jodi, predeceased by 1 step son Bruce Gioia, 1 step Daughter Debbie, 2 daughters-in-law, 3 sons-in-law, 23 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren & 3 more bundles of joy on the way!

He passed away peacefully in the morning of December 12th and spent his last several days with family members at his side. There will be a memorial for Dad at Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral home in Deer Park, NY on Deer Park Ave on Saturday January 20th 2018 with two visitations 2:00pm - 4:30pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm. The interment ceremony for his ashes will be held later this year, details to follow.
